Global Manufacturer, Sacheon Office — A different carpet texture for every space

This is the office of a global manufacturer's production plant in Sacheon. Corridors, a lounge, meeting rooms large and small, and the executive office all sit on one floor, so the flooring had to carry a different mood for each space. The space was designed and installed by Good&Company, and Tornex supplied the carpet tile used throughout.

Rather than covering the whole floor with one carpet, four collections were assigned by the character of each space. Calm grey-patterned CORE was laid in the long corridors and lounge to settle the large area, while FACADE and SHADES went into the meeting rooms and ZONE into the executive office, giving each space its own texture and tone.

Carpet tile is laid by the box, making partial replacement and maintenance easy, and it absorbs footstep noise to raise the quietness of the workspace. CORE, FACADE, SHADES and ZONE are all in the grey family yet differ in weave and pattern, creating a distinct impression for each space within one tone.

From the corridor to the executive office, the carpet tile naturally distinguishes the hierarchy and use of each space. Though it adjoins a production site, the office gained a composed, focus-friendly environment over its calm grey floor.
