Yeungnam University — A campus commons calmed with PET linear baffles
At Yeungnam University in Gyeongsan, Tornex applied PET linear baffles across the campus commons — hung along the ceiling to cut reverberation while soft beige tones bring a calm, settled atmosphere.

Yeungnam University is committed to open communication where talent, knowledge, and values come together. The shared spaces on the Gyeongsan campus in North Gyeongsang Province are where students gather to talk, study, and rest — environments that called for a calm, settled acoustic character.
We specified Tornex PET linear baffles for these spaces. Made from recycled PET, the panels are hung lengthwise along the ceiling, building up the absorptive area needed to serve the scale of a large communal hall. Reverberation is reduced so that conversation is clear and quiet rest is possible.
PET linear baffles are available in 46 colors, all carrying domestic flame-retardant certification. For Yeungnam University we chose a soft beige tone that brings warmth and calm to the space. The linear rhythm of the panels completes a refined aesthetic while simultaneously addressing the acoustic brief.
A multipurpose communal space combining a café, reading tables, and lounge seating was shaped into a quiet, comfortable environment for studying and relaxing through the PET linear baffles installed across the ceiling.
