Tornex supplied its 12mm recycled-PET acoustic felt for Fursys's three-sided desk screen — wrapping each workstation so sound stays put, carving out focus in the open office.
Fursys is an office furniture manufacturer. As open-plan offices — where desks are placed side by side without partitions — became increasingly common, the company needed to solve the problem of sound from adjacent workstations and phone calls spilling over and breaking concentration.
We supplied 12 mm PET acoustic material for desk screens that wrap three sides of each workstation. Instead of hard partitions that simply reflect sound, the PET felt absorbs reflected noise and call audio, creating a calm working environment at every seat.
The PET used in the screen incorporates approximately 50% recycled PET bottle material blended with virgin polyester fiber, giving it a textile-like feel. It is an eco-friendly recycled material while still offering a finish that suits professional office environments.
The advantages of PET screens are carried through to the details. Accent buttons added to the bracket address both function and design, and a transparent hook-style supporter keeps desk cabling neatly organized.
