Hyundai Wia HQ — A workspace refined by PET linear baffles and 3D tiles
A project applying recycled-PET linear baffles and 3D tiles to the ceilings and walls of Hyundai Wia HQ in Changwon — pairing acoustic absorption with three-dimensional design in the workplace.
The Hyundai WIA headquarters in Changwon's Seongsan district is an integrated workspace where multiple departments share a single open floor. High ceilings and hard surface finishes are a recipe for overlapping speech and call noise that disrupts concentration.
We suspended PET linear baffles at regular intervals across the workspace ceiling, intercepting sound before it could reflect back from the slab. The repeating rhythm of the baffles adds visual order to the space while delivering the absorption it needs.
PET 3D tiles were applied to corridor and lounge walls. Their sculpted relief catches light and animates what would otherwise be flat, monotonous surfaces, while at the same time absorbing reflected sound and reducing corridor reverberation.
Both the PET linear baffles and the 3D tiles are made from recycled PET and ship in their natural color — no secondary painting required. The calm blue and grey palette brings a sense of stability to the workspace, and the materials carry domestic flame-retardant certification that aligns with the client's headquarters finishing standards.
The result is a Hyundai WIA workspace that achieves its acoustic targets while reading as a deliberate design statement in both the ceiling and the walls — a case where Tornex PET materials resolved acoustic and aesthetic requirements together.
