For a bare board to be the finish, the board itself must be good.
On a bare board the surface itself is the finish, so the board’s colour, surface and density are everything.
Colour in the fibre, edge included
Colour is in the fibre, not painted on. The face and the cut edge are the same colour, so the panel installs as it is, with no edge trim. The full palette is on the PET material page.
What separates the finish
A bare board’s finish is decided by pilling, stray-fibre clumps, front-to-back colour difference and how firm the board is. Our journal on choosing PET boards sets out what to look for; ask for samples and check against the same criteria.
Density is part of the spec
At the same thickness, firmness depends on areal density (GSM): the less a board yields, the better it serves as a finish. Canvas states the GSM per colour and thickness, and the stock list below shows quantities by thickness, GSM and fire rating.

01How is the item code composed?+
Colour, thickness, fire rating, cutting — in that order.
CANVAS-{colour}-{thickness}-{FR}-{cutting}
e.g. CANVAS-KP01-12T-FR-RAW
Write the colour number without a hyphen, padding 1–9 to two digits (KP01). FR is fire-rated, NF standard; RAW is the full sheet, CUT is cut to size.
02What is the difference between RAW and CUT?+
RAW is the full 2440 × 1220 mm sheet as it comes; CUT is cut to the dimensions on your drawing. Cut sizes fit within the sheet, and larger surfaces are covered with multiple panels.
03What is the absorption figure?+
The figures above were measured on this flat board as supplied (KCL test report, 56 mm air gap). Real performance depends on the air gap, coverage area and room conditions — tell us your target and we will work it through.
04Do you also make machined patterns?+
Yes. Line and Geo are the same board with V-CUT machining, and their colour and fire-rating options are the same as Canvas.
