Egg Is Coming — Melamine + PET Acoustic Frames That Restored Recording Sound

Eggiscoming's production headquarters features high ceilings and arched finishes suited to video and drama production — but those same surfaces focused and reflected sound in ways that degraded recording quality. Reverberation was concentrating at the apex and bouncing back, making in-house recording results unsatisfactory.

Lease conditions and interior design requirements ruled out conventional acoustic construction, and the client also needed to display poster artwork promoting its content IP. We ran an acoustic simulation and developed a hybrid solution: a poster-and-absorber composite panel as the best available option within the constraints.

Poster graphics were printed directly onto the surface of melamine-foam absorbers, then framed in PET profiles that extended the absorptive area right to the edges. The melamine foam carries international fire certifications including EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0 and UL94 V-0, as well as OEKO-TEX Standard 100, satisfying both safety and performance requirements as an interior finish.

The absorptive area relative to the room volume fell short of what would be needed to fully meet the acoustic target, but recording quality and interior reverberation improved noticeably compared with the pre-installation condition. This project demonstrates that even in environments where conventional acoustic construction is not possible, meaningful acoustic improvement can be achieved without compromising the interior design.
