AhnLab CloudMate is a company providing cloud and security services. Its new office in Gyeonggi-do consists of a wide open floor and long corridor circulation, so the flooring became a key element shaping both the impression of the whole space and how people find their way through it. The interior was designed by Twelve Design, and Tornex supplied and installed the carpet tile flooring.
Filling a large area with a single color can easily feel monotonous and leave circulation ambiguous. The workspace was therefore laid as a field of calm grey FACADE carpet tile to create a stable base, while deep-blue QUARTZ planks were placed along the corridors and main circulation axes. The contrast of color and texture alone lets paths and zones separate naturally.
QUARTZ, in a long 457.2×914.4 plank format, creates directionality that emphasizes the flow of the corridors, while the square 500×500 FACADE evenly covers the wide workspace. The executive office and meeting room use a light-grey DYNAMIC carpet, giving those rooms a calm atmosphere distinct from the open workspace. Carpet tile is easy to replace in sections and to maintain, which makes it well suited to a high-traffic office.
Carpet tile is soft underfoot and absorbs footstep noise, improving comfort in an office where many people work together. AhnLab CloudMate’s new office gained a composed impression through the contrast of grey and blue, together with a floor whose circulation anyone can read at a glance.
